Getting to Bologna
Bologna has earned its right as a popular destination. The university city is well known for it’s porticoes that run along the streets. Opulent architecture and frescoes enrich your experience of the city.

Bologna station is a major transport hub. The station has 24 platforms and welcomes around 800 trains a day. 160,000 people pass through it every day.
The station is just on the edge of the historical center, but it is an easy walk toward Piazza Maggiore. Buses operate in the city and there is currently infrastructure work underway to equip the city with a tram line.

Bologna Travel Itinerary
One option is to start in the Netherlands and take the OBB night train through Germany and Austria ans then taking the 3 hour 30 Railjet connection to Verona. From Verona you can chose one of the Italian trains that connect to Bologna.

Another option is not yet available all year round (hopefully this will change one day). This is the quickest way to get from the London to Bologna! Take the Eurostar from London to Brussels followed by the night train to Verona and a quick connection to Bologna. The Brussels night train is run by the European Sleeper and at the moment only runs for a few dates around the Carnevale celebrations.
